What is Olaplex?? How does it work??

Updated: Nov 28, 2019

You may have heard us talk about Olaplex in the salon or read about how celebrities swear by it but do you really know what its all about?? Its been raved about by Khloe

Kardashian as it allowed her to healthily take her hair from dark brown to blonde and still keep her hair in tip top condition. Olaplex is an investment for you hair!!!!! Guaranteed!! Nothing else on the market will protect and restore your hair as much as Olaplex will and here is how it works:

Olaplex is a bond multiplier that works within the hairshaft to link single sulphur hydrogen bonds and cross links them back together to form disulphide bonds before during and after services. Disulphide bonds are broken by chemical (colouring), thermal (styling) and mechanical (brushing) processes. Olaplex contains a single active ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate and is free from silicone, sulphates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes and is never tested on animals. Olaplex means we can provide you with the best colour service while maintaining your hairs integrity and also adding strength and shine.

Olaplex can be used in several different processes but here are our main services within the salon:

In Colour

Olaplex No1 is measured and added directly into your colour before being applied to you hair, this can be added to all colours including glossing and toning. Your colour is applied and processed as normal. Once processed your colour is rinsed and Olpalex No2 is applied and processed for 10-20 minutes (this can never be left on to long)

Hair is then shampooed and conditioned as normal and voilà beautiful strong healthy hair.

These are some of our gorgeous Olaplex Users.

Stand Alone Treatment

A stand alone treatment can take place before a blow dry or a cut and blow dry.

First stage of this process happens at the basin where you can lie back and relax. No1 is applied to your hair within a carefully measured amount of warm water and is left for 5 minutes. After this time No2 is applied and is left to absorb for 10-20 minutes (again this can not be left on too long) after absorbing the hair is shampooed and conditioned as normal then we can proceed with the rest of your service.

Mini Service

We now offer a Mini Olaplex service for this who are in need of a treatment but it wasn't pre booked. Mini service gives the same great benefits to your hair but only No2 is applied onto wet hair and processed for 5 minutes then shampooed and conditioned as normal. This service Is only £7.50 when added to any other service.

Olaplex No3, No4 and No5.

We also stock Olaplex no3 which is the take home version of Olaplex meaning you can maintain your healthy hair at home. Olaplex no3 is applied to damp hair and is left to absorb. I like to leave mine overnight and wash out in the morning. Olaplex no3 is also great to use on holiday to protect your hair from the sunshine while also maintaining your hairs integrity.

Olaplex No4 Shampoo and No5 Conditioner has newly been added to the Olaplex Family meaning you can give your hair the very best at home care it deserves. Fighting frizz, maintaining colour and giving your hair a healthy boost.

As amazing as Olaplex is we still need to use our skills and great products to make sure your hair's integrity is maintained and you leave with the gorgeous hair you deserve. So if we decide your hair is not strong enough to proceed with colour we may recommend a Stand Alone Treatment to begin with.

What does it cost?

We charge £10 for Olaplex to be used within your colour service and £29 for a Stand Alone Treatment which includes a blow dry.No3 at home treatment is £33, No4 shampoo £25 and No5 Conditioner £25
