Disneyland Paris Our Review and Tips

Updated: Mar 19, 2018

We spent 4 magical days in Disneyland Paris this March and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Flying from Edinburgh Airport at 7am in the morning needed an early rise but it allowed us to spend 4 full fun packed days in the resort.

On arrival at Charles De Gaulle Airport we made our way to our Magic Shuttle Bus. We were expecting a little Disney magic on board which we didn't get (only a video with park information) but it was just a short 45 minute journey and a great way to see some of the other hotels. We arrived at Hotel Cheyenne the Disney hotel themed around Woody and Jessie from Toy Story and the Wild West. Our rooms were in the Wyatt Earp section which was across from the Reception, Shop and Starbucks. We were also a 4 second walk to the shuttle bus to the parks. Rooms were fairly spacious with 2 double beds in each, hairdryer, some toiletries and towels were included and an iron and kettle could be hired from reception.

We were lucky enough to have half board which means you receive vouchers to the value of roughly £28 and these can be used in most restaurants in full or for a small upgrade price. Places we ate:

Five Guys (burgers and chips, vouchers cant be used here)

Annette's Diner (American diner style menu)

Casey's Corner (hot dogs)

Chuck Wagon Café (hotel restaurant for buffet style continental breakfast)

Plaza Gardens (character breakfast buffet style and evening meal buffet style)

Buffalo Bills Wild West Show (info below)

Attractions we highly recommend:

Breakfast with Characters (Plaza Gardens) best place to see lots of characters without queuing and a lovely buffet breakfast.

Buzz lightyear Lazer Blast -perfect for all the family

Indiana Jones and the temple of Peril - 360 rollercoaster big kids only

Peter Pans Flight -fly high above the city on a magic boat ride

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - for the thrill seekers

Pirates of the Caribbean loved by us all and the lead up to the ride is themed fantastically

Ratatouille - 3D ride where you are the size of Remy

Studio Tram Tour

Entertainment we enjoyed:

Illumination and Fireworks - this was the most magical and beautiful experience we had in Disney. The castle completely transforms at the end of the day and you are treated to an amazing visual tour of the most famous Disney movies. Get there early to find the best viewpoint. You wont be disappointed.

Buffalo Bills Wild West Show (Disney village) - high paced cowboy and Indian experience with real life gunfire, lasso and high jinx. We absolutely loved this, from the bar entertainment, rustic cowboy food and the entertainment it was highly worth upgrading our half board vouchers. Not suitable for asthma sufferers as you are quite near the horses. Vegetarian meals also available (pictured)

Moteurs ....Action! Stunt Show Spectacular - find out how the stunt shows of your favourite movies are made. Special guest appearance from Lightening McQueen.

Spider-Man Experience. Tj met his hero and he did not disappoint. Spider-Man is one of the few characters who speak during their meet and greets. He was amazing with Tj who won in a race with him. We got some amazing pictures with him too.

Top Tips:

*Take your Disney costumes with you.

*If you are travelling with a child under the age of 5 I would highly recommend taking a buggy with you (or borrowing one like we did) . Tj has been out of a buggy for nearly 3 years and still loved having the opportunity to have a wee rest. It was a god send!!

*Book your restaurants before you go to avoid disappointment.

*Character Breakfast is the fastest was to see most of the main Disney characters.

* Take snacks with you for long queues

Take rain ponchos with you

*Take water bottles - most of the counter service restaurants will fill your water bottle for free.

*Use your extra magic hours (if you stay in a Disney hotel) to get the best undisturbed pics of the castle.

* Grab your fast passes for rides early as they do run out.

Disney was the most magical and memorable weekend ever and we can't wait to go back.
